Reactivity Rehab

Reactivity Rehab is a weekly counterconditioning group for leash reactive dogs (dogs that have an abnormal response (barking and lunging) to a normal stimulus (other dogs, people, or other triggers). In Reactivity Rehab we provide opportunities for reactive dogs to change their emotional response to their triggers through low intensity exposures, paired with something the dog loves (usually high value food). This training method is called counterconditioning, and is the most effective method for helping reactive dogs learn how to perceive their triggers as something good. We meet when we have enough participants (3-4 dogs).

  • Open to all fully vaccinated dogs age 16 weeks and older.

  • The cost is $25 per session, with a four session minimum for all new students (invoices sent after each session).

  • Sessions take place at a public location in Georgetown, on Saturdays at 8:00 a.m.

  • An online information session is required for all new students.

If you are interested in attending Reactivity Rehab with your dog, please complete and submit the form below. Please note that completing the form does not guarantee you an immediate spot in this group, but we will do our best to accommodate all dogs within a reasonable time frame, and will create a wait list as needed. We reserve the right to decline entry to any dog that we determine is not a good fit for this class (however we do not discriminate on the basis of breed).
